| Hilary says: "I am relieved to read that Ismail
Merchant was working on another film at the time of his death. I would
be terribly sad if that this Hollywood-Normative-in-indie-clothing was
his last credit. The plot (such as it is) centers on Isabel’s (Elizabeth
Banks) doubts about marrying Jonathan (James Marsden), whom she discovers
has secrets. Glenn Close is wasted as Isabel’s mother, Diana, a stage
diva working on a production of 'The Scottish Play' with her
actor husband who is carrying on with Diana’s understudy.
"An aside: some of the worst man-kissing I’ve seen in ages; all face-clutching. 2 cats" |
