Lucia Small Latest Film to Premiere at NYFF

The Axe in the AtticThe same year A.J. Schnack's GIGANTIC: A TALE OF TWO JOHNS won the Chlotrudis Best Documentary award, Lucia Small was nominated for directing her first documentary, MY FATHER THE GENIUS. Now Small has teamed up with director/producer Ed Pincus on THE AXE IN THE ATTIC. The film's synopsis taken from their webpage states:

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, two documentary filmmakers, drawn together by outrage, take a sixty-day road trip from New England to New Orleans. Along the way, they meet evacuees and witness the dignity, loss, humor and horror of people who have been exiled in their own country. The consequences of a broken trust between a government and its people, alongside the influence of race, class and gender -and the ethics of documentary filmmaking itself - form the backdrop of this universal story of the search for home.

If you're lucky enough to be attending the New York Film Festival, you can try to attend the film's world premiere, Oct 6th, 6pm at Rose Hall.
