Wowee! Dale Dickey to be Honored at 20th Annual Chlotrudis Awards Ceremony!

Dale DickeyWell, the vagaries of the entertainment industry are legendary, and when one guest must cancel due to schedule conflicts, another miraculously appears to step in!  We are thrilled to honor Dale Dickey for her outstanding career at the 20th annual Chlotrudis Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 16, 4pm at the historic Brattle Theatre.  (Tickets available now).  Dale was a Chlotrudis Awards-nominee at the 17th awards for her amazing portrayal of Merab in the Chlotrudis Awards-winning Best Movie, WINTER'S BONE!  Her film career began back in 1995 in THE INCREDIBLY TRUE ADVENTUREs OF TWO GIRLS IN LOVE.  She has appeared in dozens of television programs, including "My Name is Earl," "Breaking Bad," and "True Blood."  She has also appeared in a series of film roles including THE JOURNEY OF AUGUST KING with Jason Patric and Thandie Newton, SORDID LIVES with Olivia Newton John and our own Beth Grant, THE PLEDGE with Jack Nicholson and Patricia Clarkson, SUPER 8 and BEING FLYNN with Robert DeNiro, Paul Dano and Julianne Moore.  One of her more recent indie films was BLUES FOR WILLA DEAN which she co-starred with Beth Grant and Octavia Spencer.  With a string of films complete and in production, Dale will be seen on the big screen for some time to come!

The Tennessee native found her dramatic side at age 9 and through high school before entering University of Tennesee.  In addition to her extensive work on the large and small screens, she has appeared on Broadway  in "The Merchant of Venice" and in several other regional productions including "Sweeney Todd," and  "A Streetcar Named Desire."  In 2011 she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress in WINTER'S BONE.  (ANIMAL KINGDOM's Jacki Weaver squeezed Dale out of the Trudy that year but she was more than worthy.)  It was a big year for WINTER'S BONE at the Chlotrudis Awards, and it picked up four awards including Best Movie, Best Director for Deb Granik, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinemtography.

We are so happy to welcome Dale Dickey to the Chlotrudis Awards and to celebrate her long and varied career!
